Support Your School

Great win for K-State on October 6th 56-16 over KU. I am proud to wear purple and support K-State. For those who support KU in football and basketball I am proud of you. For the rest who say I am a K-state fan in Football and a KU fan in basketball, get off the fence. Be a fan through and through. Support your school. In Kansas you are either K-State or KU. Its OK to be a Gorilla or a Shocker or whatever, thats OK too. I am a big WSU fan too, but you fence riders, you must have a closet with many colors to coordinate everyday so you can always be on the winning side. I saw KU basketball fans wearing K-State football shirts this weekend. Thanks for the support but that makes me sick.

I don't know about you but I'm ready for some football! it seems like the season can't come soon enough (much to the dismay of the wife). Don't forget KINZ is your home for K-State Athletics and Chanute High School Football this year! I saw the schedule of places we're going to this year and one of them includes my old stomping grounds of Labette County High School. Not going to lie, I'm excited to be there. It's going to be tough though trying not to run up and down on the field like the ol' times.

Don't forget, Crusin' For Bargains is this Friday in Chanute! Hot 105 and Z95.3 will be broadcasting live from Main Street Chanute from 4 - 6PM. Definitely make it a point to stop by and see Lisa Gant and the ladies of Braclets Are Us as they'll most likely be dressed up in their poodle skirts. Now my question is, do you think I could pull off the Danny Zuko look from Grease? Yeah, probably not.

Multi-Generational

April 13, 2011 - 10:11 AM
If you're looking for something to do that's FREE, family friendly, and is giving away free food, I recommend coming out to the NCCC multi-generational game against Johnson County Community College this Saturday. There will be an autograph session, free food, and second place on the line for the Panthers against a very solid Johnson County team. NCCC leads JCCC by three games for second place heading into this weekends series; even more important is that NCCC trails Cowley College by two games for first place.
So bring the family out to Hudson Field for some great baseball, free food, and a fun time! First pitch at 1:00PM on Saturday.

That's the upside to working at a radio station that carries sports programming; I can listen to the Royals and claim to be doing work! As Charlie Sheen would say, WINNING!...as long as the boss doesn't find out. :P

Congratulations to Neosho County Community College pitcher Adam Giacalone for being named this weeks NJCAA Pitcher of the week! From the NJCAA Website:
(A) freshman from Shawnee, Kan., tossed a complete nine-inning game in a 6-2 win over Fort Scott (Kan.) on March 19. The right-hander scattered seven hits and allowed two earned runs in the outing. He also struck out 17 Fort Scott batters, which set a new Neosho County school record.
Tune in to the Panthers this Saturday as they host the Independence Pirates on ESPN 1460AM starting at 12:30!

Wild Week

March 2, 2011 - 12:40 PM
Well...here we are, still standing after a wild start to Sub-State Basketball and Region VI action. Congratulations to the St. Paul Indians as they knocked of Plesanton last night. They will advance to a Friday night match-up with Crest High School in the semi-finals at Allen County Community College. The St. Paul girls will be in action for the first time this week on Thrusday, when they play Southern Coffey County in the semi-finals for the second time in over a week.
Unfortunately, the Chanute Blue Comets and Neosho County Panthers seasons came to an end Monday and Tuesday night. Chanute fell in the upset of Monday night to Columbus while the Lady Blue Comets were sent packing by a resurging Baxter Springs Lady Lions. The Neosho County Panthers ended their season last night at Garden City to a hot shooting Broncbuster team.
Tune into Hot 105.5FM all this week for St. Paul Indian basketball, as the Indians try to advance to the Class 1A State Tournament in Emporia!

A special one hour long Countdown to Tipoff Show presented by Neosho County Community College will get things started at 6:30PM on ESPN 1460AM. Then on KINZ 95.3, the Chanute Lady Blue Comets travel south to Baxter Springs. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00PM. On Hot 105, Keith Smith will bring you the play by play for St. Paul and Plesanton in the Class 1A Division 1 Sub-State starting with the Derailed Commodity Pregame Show at 6:30.

Panthers sink the Pirates

February 17, 2011 - 6:29 AM
There's a win...then there's a 112 - 89 Neosho County win over #25 Independence. The Panthers shot lights out in the first half, 65% from the field. The win improves the Panthers to 15 - 12 overall, 9 - 6 in the Jayhawk East. If the season were to end today, NCCC would have to travel to Garden City for the opening round of the Region VI Tournament. To say a win over Coffeyville and Cowley is important is an understatement. Hope to see a lot of Black and Orange at the 'Ville on Saturday night! Follow the action on KKOY 105.5FM
